Thirsty Thursdays Live Jazz
Join us every Thursday in August from 6 – 8 pm…
Local jazz/swing violinist Carolyn Dutton and Bloomington guitarist Dave Gulyas will be performing jazz and blues standards from the American Songbook in celebration of "Thirsty Thursday" at the restaurant.
Appetizers and drink specials will be offered….get a head start on the weekend....come on out of the woods or stop by after work and beat the heat with a cold libation and some cool musical renderings calculated to soothe your soul.
A current resident of Nashville, Carolyn appears regularly at local venues as well as clubs and festivals throughout the state with her gypsy jazz band, Bleu Django; with jazz pianist Monika Herzig; and with singer/songwriter Tom Roznowski. For over 30 years she worked as a professional musician in New York City, appearing at such major venues as Lincoln Center, the Bottom Line and the Other End and performing as a solo violinist in numerous on and off-Broadway productions including the Tony-award-winning “The Grapes of Wrath.” She toured the U.S. and Europe with swing, bluegrass and rock bands and has played with and/or recorded with such artists as Doc Cheatum, Dan Hicks, Vassar Clements, Levon Helm, and John Sebastian. In 2002 she received a Master’s Degree in jazz studies from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.
David is one of Bloomington’s most popular jazz guitarists, performing with many of Indiana’s top jazz combos. He has played and recorded with such musical luminaries as the Drifters, Sylvia McNair and Janiece Jaffe and in musical productions of “Hairspray,” “Murder Ballad” and “Spring Awakening.”
